It’s finally spring! Depending on where you live, you may only know that because of the calendar, but many places also note the change in season with the return of the farmers market. Now you can find a farmers market where you are, or wherever you may be going, thanks to the USDA’s National Farmers Market Directory.
Go here, type in a zip code, and you’ll get a listing of farmers markets in the area. You can specify distances from your starting point of from five to 200 miles and get a map, as well (day trip, anyone?). If there’s a Web site for the market, you’ll get a link to visit.
You can even narrow your search by the types of products available (baked goods, meat, herbs, plants, etc.) or the type of location (closed-off street, roadside stand, parking lot, etc.)
The best part is that you aren’t limited to spring and summer markets. There’s a special section winter markets, too.
